In 2008/2009 subscriptions for the Digimap Collection of services continued to rise. UKBORDERS is a free service and also does not require an institutional subscription and continues to have wide institutional uptake.

NewsFilm Online was officially launched in October 2008, and quickly proved to be a popular service. Institutional uptake of Film & Sound Online and Education Image Gallery continued to rise. Education Image Gallery requires a paid subscription; Film & Sound Online and NewsFilm Online are free services.

In the Reading and Reference area, institutional subscriptions for the Land Life Leisure service remained relatively stable and represented a consolidation. OpenURL Router link-resolver registrations saw another healthy annual increase. The SUNCAT service concentrated on checking the quality of data from existing contributing libraries whilst adding four new libraries. The UK LOCKSS Alliance was launched in August 2008.

The Jorum service licence ended on the 31 July 2008. Existing licensed institutions were given the opportunity to renew using a click-through licence with an extension until 31 January 2009. Whilst the number of institutions licensed to contribute to Jorum remained stable the number of Jorum User licences fell.

Total monthly log-in statistics for all EDINA services are given in Appendix 2.
