Explore Newsfilm, a new section that helps users discover news footage, has been released in JISC MediaHub, the multimedia platform of the JISC eCollections service for Higher and Further education.

The new section coincides with the end of the NewsFilm Online service at EDINA, the content of which has been made available through JISC MediaHub. Collections available include ITN, Associated Press, Channel 4 and Channel 5 news, and Gaumont Newsreels. ITN Studio Scripts, formerly available only in NewsFilm Online, can also be found through Explore Newsfilm.

Explore Newsfilm lets you discover this content in a variety of ways:

• Date: timeline, “it happened today”, user-defined date ranges
• Subject: IPTC categories
• Collection: those formerly found in NewsFilm Online, plus the two new collections, ITN and Associated Press

All searches in JISC MediaHub can also now be filtered for “newsfilm”.

We have updated the JISC MediaHub Development Roadmap and will make further announcements over the coming months as additional features from that list are released into service.
