Ordnance Survey Sample Data

OS MasterMap data supplied through Digimap meets the appropriate technical specifications. However, there are small differences in the way Digimap's OS MasterMap data are compiled. If you are developing software, or contemplating purchasing new software you may wish to check that it works with Digimap's version of OS MasterMap. You can download sample data files for this purpose below.

All the other Ordnance Survey data we supply is the same as that provided directly by Ordnance Survey. Sample files are therefore available from the Ordnance Survey website in the Products area of the Business section.

Use of Digimap's OS MasterMap data directly in MapInfo and ArcGIS, and in conversion software like ESRI UK's MapManager and Productivity Suite, and the free conversion software OSM2MIF for MapInfo, is not affected by these small differences. Dotted Eyes have created a specific edition of InterpOSe for use with OS MasterMap data from Digimap; InterpOSe will convert the data to Shapefile, MIF / MID and DXF. The Digimap edition of InterpOSe is also free to download (see links below).

OS MasterMap Topography Data

The following zip files contain all the various components found in OS MasterMap Topography from Digimap. There are files containing chunked data and single un-chunked files, the chunked data is broken up into 1km square pieces:

All these converters are free for HE and FE institutions, though the Productivity Suite is available from the CHEST web site only for Academic Institutions who have purchased ArcGIS through CHEST: ESRI Products from CHEST. You will need to have a special username and password to be able to download the software from CHEST; please see the CHEST representative for your institution.
