We have looked at a few information sources in detail. Here are some other sources to consider:
- National museums or galleries - for e.g. National Portrait Gallery (http://www.npg.org.uk) has many images of Elizabeth I. Kate used an image of Elizabeth in her essay to demonstrate her position of power after The Spanish Armada
- National library archives - for e.g. British Library (http://www.bl.uk), National Library of Scotland (http://www.nls.uk)
- Images. Can add interest to an essay or report. Many national image databases are available, for e.g. SCRAN (http://www.scran.ac.uk).
- Subject portals - for e.g. http://www.ltsn.ac.uk/history, is the history and arts subject portal for UK Higher Education
- TV and film archives - for e.g. Educational Media OnLine (http://www.emol.ac.uk). Kate used the film Elizabeth to see a recent interpretation of Elizabeth's life
- Interactive and specialist websites - for e.g. History Online (http://www.historyonline.com) has a section devoted to memorable speeches and famous historical characters)
- Magazines and newspapers - Queen Elizabeth I was recently in the UK national press as part of a ‘Great Britons' TV series. Kate visited the BBC website to read a number of articles that were posted on the website recently.
