GoGeo 2012/2013

EDINA undertook a survey of GoGeo users from November 2012 to February 2013. The survey was accessed from a popup when users arrived at the GoGeo homepage and the link was emailed to a group of know users.

14 responses were received, a summary of which is presented here.

Uptake by discipline, role and purpose

Discipline

Respondents selected their discipline from the list shown below; they could select more than one discipline and could specify “Other”. The disciplines specified in under other were put into one of the other disciplines where appropriate. Thirty six disciplines were selected.

The majority of respondents selected Geography and Environment (11), with Architecture and planning (4), Humanities (3) and Social sciences (3) representing the next best represented disciplines.

All respondents either agreed (10) or strongly agreed (4) that they would recommend GoGeo.

Nine users found GoGeo either easy or very easy to use; five users found it neither easy nor difficult to use; none found it difficult or very difficult.

What would happen without GoGeo?

In response to the question ‘What Alternative would you use if GoGeo was not available?’; most of the respondents were either unaware of an alternative or would not use an alternative(13), only one individual said they would use an alternative but did not state what that would be.
