The Land Life Leisure Service is available from EDINA to authorised users at subscribing organisations.
The Dataset is copyrighted by, and shall remain the exclusive property of the data providers. The interface is copyrighted by the University of Edinburgh (EDINA). The Dataset is provided by EDINA for Educational Use to an institution of tertiary education or a research council (hereafter referred to as the Sub-Licensee). It may be used by any employee, student or other person authorised by the Sub-Licensee (hereafter referred to as an Authorised User) for the following purposes, whether or not the user is located on the Licensee's premises: teaching; research; personal educational development; administration and management of the normal business of the licensee organisation; development work associated with any of the preceding four activities. It may not be used for: consultancy or services leading to commercial exploitation of the dataset; work that benefits directly the employer of students on industrial placement; or part-time courses paid for by the student's employer.
Authorized users may (i) print data obtained from searches and make limited copies of such printed search results, (ii) download data obtained from searches and (iii) retransmit search results electronically or otherwise to authorized users at the same institution but solely for purposes consistent with the Licence. Authorized users may not: (i) copy, duplicate, redistribute, retransmit, publish, transfer or exploit commercially the dataset or its contents, except as permitted herein or pursuant to user guidelines of the individual copyright holders, (ii) prepare derivative works or incorporate the dataset or contents thereof in any other work or system unless this is permitted by the licence or by 'fair dealing'; (iii) download the contents in their entirety or a lengthy sequence of them; (iv) remove the copyright statement from any record retrieved from the dataset. The Licensee shall incorporate such proprietary markings in any derivative material. The End User shall clearly acknowledge copyright ownership in any derivative material.
The Licensee must take all reasonable steps to ensure compliance with copyright and with the Licence terms and conditions of use.
