Our top story provides an overview on what can be said now on policy, plans and progress for access to EDINA services. However, there is so much happening in this area, much of it dynamic or dependent upon work being done by others, that we have decided to provide an online method for you to find out more and keep up to date. Please check both the EDINA and federation websites for updates and look out for announcements from JISC.
For example, at the time of writing, the Athens-to-Shibboleth gateway is not able to assert user accountability, and thus at present institutions cannot access Digimap or Jorum by that route. This should change as Eduserv have stated their intention to enable the Athens-to-Shibboleth gateway to assert user accountability at some time during May 2008.
