GeoCrossWalk now available via Digimap

EDINA are pleased to announce that GeoCrossWalk, the middleware gazetteer service and georeferencing infrastructure service, is now a JISC service and is available for use via the Digimap Ordnance Survey Collection pages.

This follows a long transition through several project phases and will initially provide third-party services and individual users with a simple Application Programming Interface (API) with which to perform geographic queries.

This initial release is intended for system developers and integrators wishing to include some basic geographic functionality into their services. Future releases will internationalise the gazetteer content and provide web services for our geoparsing/geotagging services.
