E-Journals: who is looking after what?

A new registry service, currently in beta testing, was formally launched at a meeting of the ISSN Governing Board in Paris on 28 April 2011. The ISSN International Centre is EDINA’s partner in the JISC-funded PEPRS project, a pilot for an e-journal preservation registry service.

Check to see whether anyone is looking after the e-journals you care about via www.peprs.org – this service aggregates metadata about e-journal preservation from five major archiving agencies: CLOCKSS, Portico, Global LOCKSS Network, British Library and the e-Depot at the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (National Library of the Netherlands).

We are carrying out a short survey to gather feedback on the beta service – all responses will be gratefully received.

New functionality is being developed – check the FAQ for information – and the project team would welcome offers from users to assist in the testing process: please contact us at edina@ed.ac.uk.
