The lit-long logo: stylised drawings of houses against a black background.

Last night saw the official launch of Lit Long: Edinburgh, an interactive resource of Edinburgh literature emerging from the Palimpsest project.

An invited audience at the university's George Square campus witnessed the first demonstration of the new website, which is now live and can be explored online.

In addition, the winner of the January competition was announced with the awarded going to Jane Alexander for her story 'Candlemaker Row'.

A live-blog of the evening provides a good overview of proceedings.

Lit Long: Edinburgh is the culmination of the 15-month AHRC-funded Palimpsest project conducted by a partnership between the universities of Edinburgh and St Andrews, with EDINA providing technical and communication input.
