Aerial Digimap

Aerial Digimap: 80,000 new images!

Aerial Digimap was only launched at the end of last year but the response from the Digimap community has been amazing. The service already has thousands of active users who have created hundreds of thousands of screen maps and downloaded tens of thousands of square kilometres of the data, for use directly in reports or GIS and CAD software.

While usage levels have been rising, behind the scenes our Data Team have been processing the 2015 aerial images. This first update to Aerial Digimap brings around 80,000 tiles up-to-date, covering roughly 30% of the country. The new images are now available

What data is in Aerial Digimap?

The aerial imagery data in the service is 25cm resolution vertical aerial imagery supplied by Getmapping Plc, and is the most detailed aerial imagery available for the whole of Great Britain. National coverage is available; dates differ according to location.

Aerial Digimap webinar

We recently ran a webinar highlighting the service features and showcasing just a few of the potential uses for the imagery. The webinar was recorded in full and is available on our YouTube channel. Links to the recording, slides and a transcript of all questions and answers are available on our website.
