Summary

EDINA have been commissioned by JISC to conduct a scoping project investigating the potential and the demand for mobile GIS in Higher and Further education and research. This will include a user engagement exercise to find out how Digimap users are currently using our data and services to create mobile applications and services. A second strand is a technical evaluation of different technologies and frameworks that are relevant to mobile GIS. Additionally, we will develop a simple pilot service using Digimap data to deploy on a smart phone platform in order to gain experience and test user demand.
