the Coursework Briefing Sheet which was available
to students on a local Intranet. Introductory
quarry photographs from Penmaenmawr and Llandulas quarries were also
made available. Photographs from the field visits to Penmaenmawr and Llandulas
quarries and the Rhos-on-Sea site are also available. The teams made use of a surface mapping/processing software package, Surfer. This enabled a 3D view of the existing site to be made. A view was shown before quarrying (fig. 1) and after quarrying (fig. 2). Surfer was also used to provide a section (fig. 3) through the ground and to calculate the quarried stone volume (Appendix 2 - pdf file).
