NLN Learning Materials Delivery Project

Welcome to the project website for the National Learning Network (NLN)
Learning Materials Delivery Project.
NLN Service update
The NLN Service has been available since August 2003, providing learning
materials to users in Further Education. These materials can be downloaded
for use in Virtual Learning Environments via the Content Access Tool (CAT),
a service provided jointly by MIMAS and EDINA.

NLN Learning Materials Delivery Project
The NLN Learning Materials Delivery Project (LMDP) ran from March 2002
to July 2003 and succeeded the NLN Scoping and Appraisal Study, which
took place from November 2001 to March 2002. The project investigated
issues surrounding the delivery of the NLN materials. The NLN Materials,
commissioned by Becta from a number of different developers, span the
FE curriculum and can be easily fitted into existing teaching.
The Project was a collaboration between the NLN Materials Development
Team (NLN-MDT) at Becta; the Joint
Information Systems Committee (JISC)-funded
National Data Centres, MIMAS and
EDINA; and the JISC-funded Regional
Support Centres (RSCs).
