The mains aims of the project are:

• Making geospatial data securely available on the UK Grid Service for use by the UK academic sector.


• Increasing the availability of computational resources; processing power, bandwidth and storage in a collaborative way with other key UK e-infrastructure organisations.

This project is closely linked to the EDINA-led GEESE and the MIMAS GEMS (Grid Enabling MIMAS Services) project. These projects will demonstrate the use of Shibboleth to securely access Geospatial web services using open interoperability standards running on the National Grid Service.

SEE-GEO started in October 2006 and will run until 30 September 2008.
