Click on Go to enter the service
No registration or subscription necessary
Click on Latest library updates to view the dates of the latest updates.
Click on Description for information about the SALSER service
Click on Help & Support for
Select from the drop down menu:
Type the search terms (words) in the search box, e.g. Cellular biochemistry.
Hot tip! To truncate words (put a character at the end to search for variations of that word):
Use an asterisk for truncation to search for variations on a word. Cell* will find cell, cells, cellular, cellulose etc.
Choose the number of records to display per screen (between 1 and 25) and choose whether to list by Library or Title.
Select the libraries to search by clicking the check box next to the library or area group. The default is All the libraries.
Click on Search at the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
Click on Description , User Guides or Latest library updates to access these pages.
Click on a title to view the record.
Click on one of the numbers at the upper or lower right to Jump to to jump forward or back in the list of records.
Click on the library name in the yellow box on the left to jump to the titles held by that library. (Libraries which were selected on the Search Screen are not listed if there are no relevant titles.)
Click refine search to add further search terms.
Click sort to select the order in which records are displayed. Choose between Library and Title order.
This page shows the catalogue record with location and holdings.
Click on info to go to the library’s web page for information on access and opening hours.
Click on the name of the library on the left hand side of the page to select the results for another library.
More detailed Help is available from any of the pages in the interface.
